PAGI Auction: when year-end Diamond Class rewrites the rules of learning
Published: 11:01am, 1 Dec 2025, Hong Kong — As the diamond industry navigates its most transformative decade, the real Value of natural diamonds has never been more important.
At the HKJMA Jewelry Show 2025, held on 27–30 Nov 2025 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, PAGI Institute’s Head of Education – Andrew LOO – took the stage by invitation as the featured speaker. Before an audience of over 50 industry professionals—retailers, wholesalers, and seasoned traders alike—he delivered a one-hour session in Cantonese on the single most pressing topic of our time: The origin of natural diamonds and their real value as the ultimate distinction from lab-grown counterparts.
The presentation was grounded in fundamentals. Attendees were guided through the geological origins of natural diamonds, supported by updated data from the world’s leading mining regions. From there, the focus shifted to the critical question of identification — how certification bridges the gap between laboratory and reality.
The speaker highlighted the gold standard of diamond certification—HRD Antwerp.
As the official representative of HRD Antwerp in Asia, PAGI Institute brought the Belgian laboratory’s decades of grading expertise directly to the Hong Kong trade floor.
The message was unambiguous: certification is not a luxury—it is the only language the market trusts to distinguish heritage from reproduction. Live demonstrations showcased professional testing instruments and diagnostic criteria for distinguishing natural, treated, and lab-grown diamonds. Just the tools and logic that separate fact from fiction in daily trade.
A central theme emerged: lab-grown diamonds have earned their place in the market—but not at the expense of truth.
The speaker addressed the widening value gap between natural and synthetic stones, offering practical strategies for both retail and wholesale players to position each category transparently and profitably.
In a moment when misinformation spreads faster than light, platforms like HKJMA are essential.
PAGI remains committed to showing up—not to sell, but to clarify. To equip the trade with knowledge that protects both reputation and revenue.
This is not the last stage we’ll speak from. As the diamond market evolves, so will our voice.
